A history making end to a thrilling Golden Boot season saw, for the first time ever, a THREE-WAY TIE atop the standings with Chris V, Peter T and Shaun H all finishing up with a superb 112 goal tally. Going into the final round, it was Peter T who had a 2 goal advantage but in incredible scenes, Chris V and Shaun H jagged a 7-goal final round haul to catch Peter and share the spoils.

And to stick with the THREE theme, this result by Chris V means that he is the first person in Alfalfa history to win the Golden Boot competition THREE YEARS IN A ROW! We salute you sir!

Looking at the rest of the GB standings, the best of the rest was Duncan A who finished with a very respectable 110 goals, one clear of Nick G and Peter K (109). Rounding out the top ten spots are Steve Mirf (108), Lynn D (107), Kris O (106) and Robert G (106).

A-League purists were treated to a stupendous Grand Final in 2026 as Pistol Knights FC faced off against InThain FC. The Knights went into the contests as slight favourites due to their 2nd placed finish and their nail biting defeat of Klopp of the Pops on penalties in the Semis after an incredible 10-10 aggregate score over the two legs. However opponents InThain FC were coming in red hot. After edging out Max Power 6-5 in the Elimination Final, they then shocked the world with 6-5 aggregate victory over Champions White Line Fever in the Semi Final tie. One could say they were the more motivated after suffering the agony of a penalty shootout defeat in last season's Grand Final against Max Power.

The first half went fairly predictably with both sides shooting identically, 1-1 at the break. And the stalemate continued in the second stanza with the teams taking similar paths to goal, again, one more goal each saw the game end 2-2 at the end of regulation time.

This saw the game progress to Extra Time and it was here that the sides really got their shooting boots on! Despite a way shot early, it was 3-3 at the half way mark of extra time and then 4-4 as we entered the dying embers of the contest. However, in the most dramatic of endings, it was InThain FC who managed to secure the game and the Premiership with a last gasp winner to send the Scots into wild delirium and the Knights collapse on their swords.

This result caps and incredible Men's and Women's Premiership double for InThain FC, a club that consistently provides success for their adoring fans. For the Knights, it was a case of so near yet so far for the 2025 Champs, however they can take some solace in their Golden Boot success.

This season's C-League playoff final went true to form as 3rd placed Chicken Nugget United did battle with Backstreet Moyes FC for that all important 3rd and final promotion place. CNU reached the final after breezing past Bladeburn Rovers 9-4 on aggregate in their Semi Final tie, while the Moyes boys had a much closer battle, squeaking past Long Jackets FC 7-6 on aggregate to reach the big dance.

The final started with what all neutrals (and of course the scoring team) hope for, an early goal. Moyes stuck early on with an incredible strike from a tough angle to take control and leave CNU shell-shocked. After this, the contest took on a more cagey approach that saw the score remain 1-0 at the break.

The second half saw the game become more stretched and it exploded in the 78th minute with both teams finding the back of the net, 1-2 to Backstreet with just over 10 minutes remaining. And just when it looked like being all over, CNU produced a last minute equaliser to send their fans into raptures and send the contest into Extra Time.

The ascendancy was now with the Nuggets and by the half way point of ET, they were ahead. A scrappy but ultimately successful finish and they were 3-2 ahead. The second half of ET saw the desperation from both sides and this resulted in one more goal for each team, this event was enough for Chicken Nugget United to win the game 4-3 and send them up to the B-League! Congrats to this young fledgling side on their success this season, richly deserved!

As for Backstreet Moyes, a heartbreaking way to end what has been a very promising and despite the loss, a successful campaign. They are definitely on the way up as a Club!

Congratulations are in order for InThain FC who have taken out this year's AWSL competition with a stunning 6-4 victory over Minor Premiers The Yaheers in the Grand Final.

It was a thrilling final series for InThain FC who defeated Short Skirts FC by the same score in the Elimination Final, before squeezing past 2nd ranked Red Mist FC in the 2-legged Semi Finals on penalties after an incredible 11-11 aggregate scoreline.

For The Yaherrs, while it ultimately ended in heartbreak, it was still a successful campaign, taking out the Minor Premiership and knocking off a plucky Knickerbocker Glory 8-7 on aggregate in the Semi-Finals.

16/03/2026

The second ever AWSL proved to be much more competitive than the first as the depth of the talent continues to grow.

After 18 home and away fixtures, it was The Yaherrs who finished the regular season atop the pile with a very impressive 32 points and a Goal Difference of +12. Red Mist FC were the best of the rest, three points back on 29, with InThain FC finishing 3rd on 27 points. Rounding out the Finals spots were Maxine Power (26), Knickerbocker Glory (25) and Short Skirts FC (23).

Perhaps the biggest shock was that the defending Champions Beaza Girls just missed out on the Finals, finishing in 7th place on 22 points, one ahead of West Boinging Albion in 8th. FC Unreality also had a poor season compared to Season 1, they finished second last on 19 points, ahead of cellar dwellers Frockeroos who brought up the rear on just 15 points.

In the first week of the finals, 3rd placed InThain FC hosted Short Skirts FC while Maxine Power faced off against Knickerbocker Glory. The winners of both contests would progress to the 2-legged Semi Finals. InThain stayed true to form, winning 6-4 while the big shock was the Glory smashing Power 4-0 away from home to advance.

The Semi Final ties see The Yaheers face Glory and Red Mist go head-to-head with InThain FC.
